It was inevitable. I surround myself all day with inspiring people at GrowingBolder.com, listen to motivational interviews from Growing Bolder Radio and produce stories for Growing Bolder TV all day.
So, obviously, I had to buy a juicer.

That may seem like quite a leap, but I promise, if you play “Six Degrees of Growing Bolder,” it makes sense.
You see, first Growing Bolder inspired me to start training for triathlons (remember when I did one with Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson)?
Then, after hearing guests like Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn and others talk about the importance of a whole foods, plant-based diet, I changed the way I ate. (I even had a smoothie bar birthday party earlier this year, and an oatmeal part the year before!)
But the final straws were interviews with Jay Kordich, the father of juicing (video embedded below)
and our radio interview with Joe Cross, the producer and star of Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead (embedded below).
I was so intrigued by their claims that juicing can be a healthy and delicious part of a balanced, wellness-focused life.
So, my husband and I did our research and bought a beauty. And we’ve been having a blast mixing things like:
- apples
- carrots
- peaches
- beets
- kale
- spinach
- oranges
- lemons
- parsley
Some combinations, I’ll admit, are more palatable than others.
What books, movies or other causes have inspired you to make a change?
